As more and more people are making the switch it has become much easier to jump in an electric car and go. A wealth of apps and available information are now available, charging points are increasing and improving all the time. Our friendly team will help you through the process and we have made a point of giving our team members a chance to experience the vehicle in real time.

How much range do electric cars have?

A full charge in ECO mode should mean you realise 200 -225 miles; this can vary depending on your driving style and use of aircon along with colder or warmer weather conditions Lights take very little power and shouldn’t be a major factor. All the time the vehicle will keep you up to date and there are now 49,000 charge points in the UK. The average UK car journey is 30 miles. You can charge from 15% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

Rapid Charge points can give you a full range again in 40-60 minutes.

If I rent an electric car, how do I charge it?

If you don’t have a charging point at home, we provide a fast charge cable. We suggest downloading the ZAP map app , the process is simple to find a location to charge, it’s great, even allowing route mapping and allocating how much charge you have to see if you will need to top up giving you all the information you need. There are multiple ways to pay, contactless, via phone apps or sometimes by tokens provide at car park / fuel station desks.  You cant over charge the vehicle either so no need to worry about attending, just plug in and relax.

There is an option to use a standard plug but this will have a significantly slower charge rate even over many hours.

How much will it cost to drive an electric car?

Great savings can be had, usually costing a lot less than fuel with standard charging averaging 7-12p a mile. We will provide you with an 80% charge as a minimum, simply return the vehicle on the same charge or a small £0.50p fee will apply per 1% less the original charge level.

Electric Cars are free from congestion zone fees too.
